Al Masaood Group Industrial has set its sights on expansion with innovative products and solutions. Leveraging its engineering and manufacturing expertise, it introduced new initiatives at this year’s edition of ADIPEC. This is part of its commitment to innovation in the energy sector. In this interview with Economy Middle East, Al Masaood Group Industrial CEO Hani El Tannir shared the group’s strategy for harnessing technology to support its commitment and deliver innovations that will lead to sustainable and renewal advances in the industry.
What aspects of Al Masaood Group Industrial’s products, services and related companies will be the focus at ADIPEC this year?
At ADIPEC, Al Masaood Group Industrial emphasized sustainable, renewable, and technological solutions tailored for the energy sector. These initiatives align with the UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050 and Net Zero by 2050 goals. Our divisions presented innovative and efficient solutions, extending their technological reach to other utilities, particularly water. We prioritized safety, security, and environmental protection in developing these solutions. We are continuously expanding our portfolio to include new engineered products and manufacturing services. This is part of our commitment to innovation in the energy sector.
What cleantech or climatetech are you championing at Al Masaood Group Industrial that align with decarbonization, ADIPEC’s core theme, and ahead of COP28?
Aligned with Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030, Al Masaood Group Industrial is committed to mitigating climate change and resource depletion. We showcased an array of cleantech and climatetech solutions at ADIPEC, such as KSB’s Reverse Engineering Scanners, Lamtec’s advanced ignition systems, and PACT’s water treatment technologies. These innovations will reduce energy consumption and contribute to decarbonization, aligning with the objectives of ADIPEC and COP28. In addition to environmental solutions, Al Masaood has also diversified its portfolio with key assets. Among these include like Renault trucks and our proprietary SHAMS+ Charge, a full-fledged charging solution for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid marine vessels that is proudly made in the UAE.
We consistently evaluate areas for enhancement, proactively taking concrete actions to foster constructive and responsible transformation.

What are some major takeaways you hope to secure from ADIPEC this year, in terms of deal making and networking?
At ADIPEC 2023, our goal was to enhance market presence and contribute to the UAE’s socio-economic advancement and sustainable energy initiatives through partnerships. This year, we’ve had an opportunity to showcase and secure meaningful partnerships and collaborations with industry frontrunners. This in turn has enabled us to expand our reach.
For example, this year we entered a strategic agreement with Lamtec to support innovation. This aligns with our ongoing focus on sustainability and customer needs. We have a few other partnerships in the pipeline as well. Announcements to this effect will be made once the final details have been ironed out. We are also adding new principals to our nuclear services and beyond, including partnerships with John Cockerill and Bertin. Our goal is to use our shared expertise to create practical and beneficial products & services. Through strategic alignment with organizations that share our vision of sustainability and innovation, these partnerships will serve as driving forces for positive change in the region.
What aspects of digital transformation has the group undergone in recent times to adapt to volatile supply logistics and deliver greater transparency across your value chains?
We are undertaking digital transformation initiatives to adapt to volatile supply logistics and deliver greater transparency across its value chains. This includes incorporating real-time data analysis and remote monitoring technologies, which enhance overall transparency and operational efficiency. These advanced systems enable better decision-making, optimal resource allocation, and empower the organization.
In a significant development, the Group is now working on the complete revamping of its ERP systems, further enriching data-driven operations across all units. The aim is to advance our digital journey, adopt emerging technologies like AI, and standardize organizational processes.
How are you mitigating the effects of global inflation on manufacturing, especially for heavy industries like yours?

Al Masaood Group Industrial is taking specific measures to guarantee availability, including securing supply to fulfill client commitments over pricing considerations. Mitigation strategies involve meticulous planning, order management, and timely delivery. The group also focuses on adding local value through project value engineering and intelligent logistics solutions. Through these targeted initiatives, we aim to maintain operational efficiency and market competitiveness.
