Mashreq, a prominent MENA region financial institution, has announced the launch of Climb2Change, a global initiative that consolidates the bank’s comprehensive ESG efforts and objectives. This includes sustainable finance commitments and a drive to enhance environmental and social impact. The Climb2Change initiative further solidifies Mashreq’s steadfast dedication to sustainability and creating a meaningful difference, while also reinforcing its active involvement in COP28 this December.

Climb2Change, a new global initiative by Mashreq, will bring together the bank’s achievements in sustainable linked financing, responsible banking products, social impact initiatives, and net-zero commitment. This consolidated effort reinforces Mashreq’s position as a leader in sustainable banking, both in the MENA region and globally.
Transcending conventional financing
Ahmed Abdelaal, group CEO of Mashreq, expressed his thoughts on the initiative, stating, “As a leading banking institution in the UAE and the wider region, our most impactful role lies in steering capital flows and providing clients with solutions that transcend conventional financing. New endeavor
As part of the Climb2Change initiative, Mashreq is embarking on a novel endeavor to clean up mountains through expeditions to 14 renowned peaks, reaching the summit of 7 and the base camp of the remaining 7. This unique initiative is designed to raise awareness, promote recycling practices, reduce waste, and preserve the environment on a global scale. It aligns with Mashreq’s commitment to sustainability and creating a positive impact in the world.
