Held under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, this edition marks the largest in its 49-year history, emphasizing innovation in energy storage and infrastructure.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum inaugurates MEE 2025
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, officially inaugurated Middle East Energy 2025.
During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh bin Saeed confirmed that the UAE, guided by the visionary leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has emerged as a global model for transitioning to a green economy and enhancing reliance on renewable and clean energy sources.

Significance of MEE 2025 for sustainable energy transition
In his opening remarks, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed emphasized the importance of Middle East Energy 2025 in facilitating the shift towards sustainable energy and promoting the UAE’s status as a global hub for innovation in the energy sector. He noted that the exhibition serves as a premier platform for uniting leading experts and local as well as international companies to present the latest innovations that will shape the energy industry’s future.
“The continued organization of Middle East Energy for a 49th consecutive year in Dubai reflects international confidence in the emirate as a strategic centre for conferences and exhibitions, and reinforces its role in leading the global dialogue on energy security and sustainability,” stated Sheikh Ahmed.
During the inaugural sessions of the Leadership Summit, a keynote speech by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, vice chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, outlined the UAE’s ambitious plans to make its grid one of the cleanest globally by 2030 through substantial renewable mega-projects in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Battery Show: Enhancing green mobility adoption
The inaugural edition of The Battery Show, held concurrently with Middle East Energy 2025, kicked off with a conference focusing on the power of government and industry partnerships to promote green mobility adoption.
More than 40,000 global energy professionals, including over 500 key buyers, are anticipated to visit DWTC before April 9 to discover innovations from more than 90 countries. The exhibition features sixteen halls, including 17 international pavilions, showcasing solutions across the entire energy value chain, from power generation and storage to clean mobility and smart grid technologies.
Mark Ring, group director of Energy Events at Informa Markets, the event organizers, noted that this year’s gathering serves as a crucial platform for ensuring stability and uncovering new opportunities within the energy sector. “The next three days will feature key discussions, as indicated by the caliber of conversations occurring on the first day, which are essential for navigating how market dynamics, AI, and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) will assist in achieving the global energy market’s objectives for a sustainable future.”
“With the addition of The Battery Show, the 49th edition of Middle East Energy is uniting the global industry to discuss how we can holistically shape the future of energy,” he further added.
Exploring critical topics at the Battery Show Conference
The Battery Show Conference will delve into crucial topics such as grid-scale energy storage systems, electric vehicle infrastructure development, smart grid integration, supply chain optimization in battery manufacturing, and the expanding role of batteries in renewable energy deployment. Market forecasts suggest that the Middle East and Africa battery market is projected to grow to $9.98 billion by 2029, driven by policy support, increasing electrification, and a rise in renewable energy investments.
In addition to The Battery Show, energy storage solutions are thoroughly integrated throughout the broader MEE exhibition, which features 1,600 exhibitors from over 90 countries, expecting over 40,000 energy professionals in attendance. From battery storage systems and smart energy management to hybrid backup power solutions, the event provides a comprehensive overview of how storage is enhancing grid flexibility, resilience, and the integration of clean energy.
