Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat has announced a strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi’s M42 to launch the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain. Amana Healthcare, a subsidiary of the M42 group, is expanding into Bahrain to replicate the successful healthcare model that it launched in the UAE. The Bahrain Amana Healthcare facility will likely commence operations in 2025.

Achieving Bahrain’s healthcare objectives

The launch of Amana Healthcare in Bahrain seamlessly aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Hence, the Kingdom seeks to upgrade its clinical outcomes and address its healthcare requirements.

In addition, the partnership aligns with Mumtalakat’s ongoing efforts to invest in and for Bahrain. It also aligns with M42’s commitment to delivering world-class health solutions specific to each local community. The partnership also aims to establish Bahrain as a global frontrunner in specialized rehabilitation and long-term care. Moreover, it will contribute to generating employment prospects for Bahrainis in the clinical field.

Commenting on the launch of the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, stated: “This presents an opportunity to enhance the existing healthcare landscape in Bahrain by addressing crucial gaps and delivering added-value services to the community, in addition to creating high-skilled jobs for Bahrainis.”

World-class long-term care services

The new Amana Healthcare facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain will provide long-term care services for people with complex medical needs that require long-term inpatient stays. Moreover, it aims to offer world-class, tech-enabled services. This includes a laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, therapy rooms, gym, hydrotherapy, majlis, and recreational spaces. In addition, Bahrain’s Amana Healthcare facility will offer special social programs and non-clinical services, such as community gatherings and recreational events. This will help patients and their families adjust to life after hospitalization.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, managing director and group CEO of M42, said that this expansion will leverage M42’s health and medical expertise to deliver personal and precise care to communities across Bahrain.
