Oman saw a 10.2 percent rise in hotel revenues during the first five months of 2024, with three- to five-star facilities recording over OMR108.3 million ($281.5 million), up from OMR98.3 million in 2023.
The latest data from Oman’s National Center for Statistics and Information also reveals a 13.7 percent surge in the number of hotel guests and a 6 percent annual rise in hotel occupancy to 51.5 percent.
Notably, the number of European hotel guests in Oman reached 286,980 during the January-May period, a 19.6 percent annual increase.
In addition, the report reveals an 11 percent increase in Omani citizen guest numbers to 306,255. Meanwhile, the number of GCC citizens visiting Oman rose 6.8 percent annually to 58,572 guests.
Visitors from other Arab countries also contributed to the growth of Oman’s hotel revenues, recording a 13.2 percent increase to 40,548 visitors. African visitors rose 1.6 percent to 4,677, visitors from Oceania reached 13,446, and U.S. visitors rose to 28,695.

Besides, Oman has witnessed a surge in tourist numbers lately, which further contributed to the growth in hotel revenues. In April alone, the number of passengers traveling through Muscat International Airport saw a 16.8 percent increase to 4,430,119, of which 4,097,728 were international passengers and 332,391 were domestic.
Meanwhile, the number of the airport’s flights reached 32,520, of which 29,862 were international flights and 2,658 were domestic.
The total number of passengers traveling through Oman’s airports reached 4,901,796 by the end of April. Meanwhile, the total number of flights landing and departing reached 31,708.
