Oman’s Suhar Industrial City, which is under the supervision of the country’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has recently entered into three investment agreements worth a total of OMR2.4 million ($6.2 million). These contracts pertain to projects specializing in plastic products, medical devices, and mattresses.

These projects, encompassing a combined area of 16,900 square meters, have the objective of producing high-quality goods utilizing advanced technology. They aim to serve both local and international markets, thereby contributing to the growth of the national economy.

The initial investment contract, valued at OMR1 million, was concluded with Ammar International Furniture. This agreement involves a project spanning 7,200 square meters.

Furthermore, The second contract was signed with Al Eman for Trade and Investment, establishing a project dedicated to manufacturing plastic products from non-hazardous waste. Moreover, the project will cover an area of 4,700 square meters and is supported by an investment of OMR850,000.

The third agreement, with Quality Medical Supply, entails the establishment of a manufacturing facility for medical and surgical instruments, as well as veterinary medicine. This project will occupy an area of 5,000 square meters and is backed by an investment of OMR550,000.

Empowering industrial jobseekers

On March 15, Oman’s Ministry of Labour (MoL), in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation (MoHERI), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), and the Academy of Industrial Innovation, have signed a collaborative agreement with the aim of empowering jobseekers who hold professional diplomas in the industrial sector.

This joint effort aims to enhance the skills of jobseekers with professional diplomas to align with the changing demands of the labor market, particularly in the industrial sector.

Additionally, a comprehensive training program will be developed to refine the participants’ skills, combining the knowledge gained from professional diplomas with the specific requirements of the industry.
