The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) recently disclosed the details of this week’s issuance of treasury bills, shedding light on the latest developments in Oman’s financial landscape. With a total issuance amounting to OMR63 million ($163.67 million), the auction outcomes provide valuable insights into market dynamics and investor sentiment. Treasury bills are short-term highly secure financial instruments that Oman’s ministry of finance issues. Those instruments provide banks the opportunity to invest their surplus funds into government instruments.

In a statement, Oman’s central bank stated that the value of treasury bills for a maturity period of 28 days amounted to OMR3 million ($7.79 million). The average accepted price reached OMR99.625 for every OMR100. Moreover, the minimum accepted price was OMR99.625 per OMR 100. Besides, the average discount rate and the average yield reached 4.88839 percent and 4.90679 percent, respectively.

Oman’s central bank added that the value of treasury bills for a maturity period of 91 days reached OMR14.3 million ($37.15 million). Their average accepted price reached OMR98.739 for every OMR100. Moreover, their minimum accepted price reached OMR98.725 per OMR100. Moreover, the average discount rate and the average yield reached 5.05932 percent and 5.12395 percent, respectively.

As for treasury bills with a maturity of 182 days, Oman’s central bank stated that their value reached OMR5 million. Their average accepted price reached OMR97.440 for every OMR100 and the minimum accepted price reached OMR97.440 per OMR100. Moreover, the average discount rate and the average yield reached 5.13407 percent and 5.26895 percent, respectively.

Finally, Oman’s central bank revealed that the value of treasury bills with a maturity of 364 days reached OMR40.7 million. Their average accepted price reached OMR95.175 for every OMR100, and their minimum accepted price amounted to OMR95.150 per OMR100. In addition, their average discount rate and the average yield reached 4.83782 percent and 5.08307 percent, respectively.
