Space42 is poised to initiate partial satellite manufacturing in the UAE this year, with plans for full-scale production set for 2026. This move represents a significant step in advancing the UAE’s capabilities in satellite technology.

Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Bayanat Smart Solutions, a subsidiary of Space42, announced that Space42 has entered into a strategic partnership with ICEYE, a leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology. This collaboration aims to facilitate technology transfer and knowledge exchange.

Contribution to UAE’s Earth Observation Program

The joint venture, which emphasizes satellite manufacturing and SAR satellite missions, will play a crucial role in enhancing the UAE’s Earth Observation (EO) Program. Moreover, this initiative is designed to improve national satellite remote sensing and EO capabilities.

In remarks made to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during IDEX 2025, Al Hosani emphasized the company’s extensive space services, which include space communications and AI-powered geospatial solutions. These services are integral to the UAE’s growing space landscape.

Foresight satellite constellation launch

Al Hosani further highlighted that Space42 has successfully launched the Foresight satellite constellation, which enhances its geospatial intelligence with increased speed and precision. These advancements are expected to further boost the UAE’s EO Space Program.

Operational satellites and first images

Additionally, Al Hosani revealed that two satellites have already been launched and are currently in operational orbit. During IDEX 2025, the company showcased the first space image captured by one of these satellites, depicting the city of Abu Dhabi.
