Oman’s airports witnessed a 9.2 percent rise in the total number of passengers to 8,478,548 by the end of July 2024, compared to 7,757,629 passengers during the same period in 2023.
The latest data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) also reveals that the number of flights through Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm airports rose by 5.7 percent to 63,219 flights in July from 59,778 flights during the same month last year.
Muscat International Airport
The total number of passengers traveling through Oman’s Muscat International Airport reached 7,571,148 passengers by the end of July 2024, an annual increase of 8.9 percent. The number of flights at this airport also increased by 5.8 percent to 56,498 international and domestic flights, compared to 53,386 international and domestic flights by the end of July 2023.
Omani citizens topped the number of passengers traveling through Muscat International Airport in July, with the number of departures reaching 115,800 passengers and arrivals reaching 100,8oo passengers. Following closely came Indian travelers with 82,900 departures and 99,900 arrivals, then Pakistani passengers with 19,300 departures and 27,500 arrivals.
Salalah Airport
The data also revealed a 10.3 percent increase in the number of passengers traveling through Oman’s Salalah Airport in July to 827,486 passengers, compared to 750,251 passengers during the same period last year.
The number of flights at this airport also increased by 3.6 percent to 5,975 international and domestic flights, compared to 5,768 international and domestic flights in July 2023.

Sohar Airport
Oman’s Sohar Airport witnessed a surge in passenger traffic last month, reporting a 114.4 percent increase to 45,126 passengers. The number of flights at the airport also rose 46.6 percent to 384 international and domestic flights, compared to 262 international and domestic flights in July 2023.
On the other hand, Duqm Airport noted a 6.3 percent decline in passenger traffic to 34,788 passengers in July, compared to 37,132 passengers during the same period last year. However, the number of flights at the airport remained stable at 362 domestic flights.
