The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced the issuance of treasury bills and Islamic sukuk valued at QAR1.5 billion ($411.9 million). This issuance includes maturities of 32 days, 95 days and 165 days.
In a post on social media platform X, the QCB revealed that the issuance of treasury bills includes an issuance of QAR500 million for 32 days at an interest rate of 5.7857 percent. Moreover, the bank revealed that it has issued another QAR500 million bill for 95 days at an interest rate of 5.8137 percent. Finally, the QCB issued QAR500 million for a 165-day term at an interest rate of 5.7987 percent.
According to the bank, the total amount of bids for treasury bills and Islamic Sukuk reached QAR4.4 billion ($1.21 billion).

Earlier last week, Qatar’s Ministry of Finance issued $2.5 billion worth of green bonds, marking the first issuance of its kind in the region, which aims to fund environmentally friendly projects. With that issuance, Qatar achieved the lowest spread by any bond-issuing country in the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, and Africa on record. Moreover, the total subscription demand exceeded $14 billion, over 5.6 times the total issuance size.
