Qatar Central Bank releases $1.23 billion in T-bills, attracts $3.58 billion in bids

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has declared the release of treasury bills (T-bills) with maturities of 7, 35, 91, 182, 273, and 336 days, amounting to a total of QAR4.5 billion ($1.23 billion).

In a statement posted on the X platform, the QCB detailed the distribution of these treasury bills: QAR300 million for a 7-day term (Tap Issuance) at an interest rate of 5.7815 percent, QAR1 billion for a 35-day term (Tap Issuance) at 5.7363 percent, QAR1 billion for a 91-day term (Tap Issuance) at 5.5390 percent, QAR1 billion for a 182-day term (Tap Issuance) at 5.1730 percent, QAR1 billion for a 273-day term (Tap Issuance) at 4.8888 percent, and QAR200 million for a 336-day term (Tap Issuance) at 4.7478 percent.

Overall, private bids for these treasury bills reached QAR13.1 billion ($3.58 billion).

Previous issuances

Earlier in August, QCB issued T-bills and Islamic bonds with maturities of seven days, 28 days, 91 days, 182 days, 301 days, and 364 days worth QAR2.5 billion ($685 million).

The central bank shared the distribution of the issuances, which include new treasury bill issues worth QAR300 million for a period of seven days at an interest rate of 5.7822 percent.

Qatar Central Bank also issued an addition to an existing issue worth QAR500 million for a period of 28 days at an interest rate of 5.7954 percent. For a period of 91 days, the central bank issued T-bills worth QAR500 million at an interest rate of 5.7459 percent. This issue is an addition to an existing issue.

Moreover, the central bank issued QAR500 million for a period of 91 days, also an addition to an existing issue, at an interest rate of 5.7459 percent.

The Qatar Central Bank also announced a 5th treasury bill issuance worth QAR500 million for a period of 182 days at an interest rate of 5.5707 percent and QAR500 million for a period of 301 days at an interest rate of 5.3294 percent.

Moreover, the central bank issued QAR200 million for a period of 364 days, a new issuance, at an interest rate of 5.2235 percent.
