Investment migration consultancy Henley & Partners announced the list of Global Passport Ranking 2022.

According to the index, Qatar ranked 57th in the current quarter of 2022, where it has moved up three places from its previous position.

The index also gave Qatar a visa-free or visa-on-arrival score of 99.

Ten years ago the country stood in 67th position due to its forward-thinking policies and the potential it held for investors. In 2021, Qatar was at the 60th position; however, its best score was in 2020 at the 54th position.

Japan’s passport stood at the 1st position in the index. This index is one that is updated quarterly and is a source of reliable reference to get an understanding of passport rankings in the global context.

The list is curated based on exclusive data sourced from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) that takes into consideration 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.
