In the run-up to the 2022 World Cup in November, Qatar is expected to launch a slew of new tourism initiatives across the country.
Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland is located on the island of Al Maha, north of the future capital of the State of Qatar, near the city of Lusail. The theme park covers an area of over 2 million square feet. The Doha Winter Wonderland, which will open on a sandy island later this year, will include chalets with views of the sea, as well as numerous restaurants, cafes, and festival games.
Fuwairit Kite Beach
Ideal for surfers and adventure lovers, this beach lies off the North coast of Qatar. A new resort will be announced soon, in addition to a fitness club, as well as a fully equipped gym.
The Outpost Al Barari
Boasting a total of luxury 24 villas, this nature reserve lies on the country’s southernmost tip
Qetaifan Island North
Qetaifan Island North has been described as Qatar’s first “entertainment island,” with floating hotels, beach clubs, and a water park that can accommodate 36 rides. The island also features the “icon tower,” a 275-foot-tall slide that is the tallest of its kind.
West Bay North Beach Project
West Bay North Beach is a new 400,000-square-foot comprehensive tourism project nestling in the heart of Doha.
It has a number of hotels as well as areas dedicated to the practice of marine sports.
In March, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum opened, offering one of the world’s more distinct galleries. Built adjoining the Khalifa International Stadium (where matches will be played), the museum is a national and international hub for sports history, heritage, and knowledge.
