The trade exchange volume between Qatar and Oman exceeded $1.8 billion in 2024, according to Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani. The minister, QNA reported, emphasized the profound brotherly ties between the two nations, rooted in a shared history and strong connections among their peoples.

Omani-Qatari Business Forum enhances bilateral relations

Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, alongside Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman, jointly inaugurated the Omani-Qatari Business Forum in Muscat.

This event coincides with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Oman, during which the Minister of Commerce and Industry highlighted the significant advancement in bilateral relations, driven by reciprocal official visits and the shared commitment of both countries’ leadership to foster cooperation and explore new avenues for partnership and investment, aiming for a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Forum as a platform for cooperation between Qatar and Oman

Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani regarded the Forum as a vital dialogue platform to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors in Qatar and Oman, focusing on establishing partnerships, diversifying mutual investments, and boosting trade exchange. His Excellency urged Omani businessmen and investors to capitalize on the favorable economic and investment landscape offered by the State of Qatar, along with the promising opportunities available in key sectors outlined in the new national development strategy.

Strengthening trade and investment ties between Qatar and Oman

The Forum, designed to reinforce trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two nations, sought to create new avenues for communication among representatives of the Qatari and Omani private sectors to establish investment projects that align with their mutual interests. It saw robust participation from leading entrepreneurs in both countries, as well as heads and representatives of major Qatari and Omani companies operating across diverse fields.

Enhancing cooperation through dialogue sessions at the Forum

During the Forum, the advantages of the business environments in both Qatar and Oman were showcased, with discussions on enhancing cooperation across various sectors. Several dialogue sessions were conducted, including a session focused on joint future visions for industrial and logistical integration between the two nations, a session on sustainable tourism and hospitality, and another on technology and digital services aimed at fostering an integrated digital economy.

Bilateral meetings took place between representatives of the Qatari private sector and Omani companies, aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration, sharing experiences, and forging new investment partnerships in mutually beneficial sectors. On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani met with Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef. During their discussion, they addressed topics of shared interest aimed at bolstering cooperation between the two countries in commercial, investment, and industrial arenas, along with strategies to enhance and develop these fields.
