Qatar’s Ministry of Transport has announced plans to test electric air taxi services and electric delivery planes in early 2025. In a recent statement, the ministry revealed that it has applied for all the necessary approvals with the concerned bodies in Qatar to begin testing.

In line with global developments in the transport sector, the introduction of air taxi services and electric delivery planes will boost Qatar’s transportation sector with a new method of mobility.

The air taxi will utilize the latest global technologies in addition to artificial intelligence (AI), which will enhance the country’s public transit system’s integration, coherence, sustainability, and eco-friendliness, the ministry said.

“For the ministry, achieving the goals of the Third Qatar National Development Strategy (NDS3) is also front and center,” the statement added.

Therefore, the introduction of air taxi services in Qatar falls under the framework of the ministry’s efforts to achieve the goals of the NDS3.
