Saudi Arabia is determined to create an extraordinary worldwide encounter with the upcoming Riyadh Expo 2030, showcasing an ambitious masterplan that aims to surpass previous Expo exhibitions.
Facilitating access to Expo 2030
The exhibition will be conveniently located near the King Salman International Airport. This strategic positioning ensures that visitors arriving at the airport can easily reach the exhibition site within a few minutes. They can utilize the efficient Riyadh Rail Station, which spans across all areas of Riyadh City, as well as the modern road network that connects to one of the exhibition’s three entrances.
A total of 226 exhibition pavilions have been meticulously designed in a globe-inspired layout, with the equator acting as a guiding principle. This thoughtful arrangement ensures that all exhibition participants have equal opportunities and access to showcase their offerings.

Ensuring seamless visitor experiences
The placement of each State’s pavilion within the exhibition will be dynamically determined, taking into account the meridians associated with each country. This arrangement aims to bring together nations from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The purpose is to symbolize the Kingdom’s significant role in fostering global cooperation. The design prioritizes visitor convenience. It also emphasizes seamless connectivity between exhibition suites. Additionally, it focuses on connectivity between public squares, cultural facilities, and innovation facilities. Moreover, fully shaded corridors are present. They are inspired by Riyadh’s architectural heritage. These corridors provide easy access to dining areas and aim to create a flexible and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Upon the conclusion of the exhibition, a total of 100 countries will be chosen to repurpose their pavilions for the benefit of their respective nations. These pavilions will be transformed into valuable assets. Also, they will serve as schools, clinics, and research centers. Their purpose is to contribute to the advancement of education, healthcare, and scientific exploration. They will do so in their home countries.
Adhering to global sustainability standards
In accordance with its climate commitments, Saudi has expressed its ambition to establish Riyadh Expo 2030. The goal is to make it the most sustainable and impactful Expo to date. This objective is prominently manifested in the exhibition’s core framework, which embodies global sustainability principles. In addition, key elements include urban afforestation, utilization of treated water, incorporation of renewable energy sources, and the post-event repurposing of the site. The ultimate aim is to cultivate an innovative urban model. This model prioritizes sustainability, fosters creativity and innovation. It also contributes to the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.
Winning hosting bid
By successfully securing the hosting rights for Expo 2030, Saudi has solidified its position as a prominent global destination for major events. Furthermore, Riyadh emerged victorious by garnering an impressive 119 votes in the confidential electronic ballot conducted among the 180 member states of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The voting process adhered to the principle of one vote per country and took place during the General Assembly meeting of the bureau’s 173rd session, following the final presentations of the three prospective host candidates.
