Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced a new manufacturing facility in the UAE’s Hamriyah Free Zone. The manufacturing facility aims to offer AI-ready data center solutions to cater to the region’s growing market.

Advancing UAE’s industrial sector

The new facility will manufacture and assemble AI-ready prefabricated modular data centers, supporting the UAE’s ‘Make it in the Emirates’ strategy. Moreover, it will boost the ongoing in-country value (ICV) program, which aims to boost local economic growth and increase the contribution of the private sector to the UAE’s GDP.

The facility will also drive local job creation, with up to 70 percent local content across supply chain management, logistics, project management, and maintenance.

This launch reinforces Schneider Electric’s role in boosting local production and driving sustainability. Moreover, it will drive industrial growth across the UAE through advanced manufacturing practices.

“Our expansion in local manufacturing reflects Schneider Electric’s commitment to the UAE’s vision for industrial growth and sustainability. By advancing our AI-powered data center solutions, we are addressing the country’s increasing demand for scalable, energy-efficient, digital infrastructure,” stated Amel Chadli, president of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric.

Data center solutions to meet global demand

Chadli added that the UAE facility will allow Schneider Electric to deliver data center solutions that align with both national economic objectives and the evolving needs of industries. The new range of data centers aims to meet customer demands for greater predictability, lower total cost of ownership, and faster deployment.

In a recent development, Schneider Electric said it will pay $850 million for a controlling stake in Motivair Corp, a specialist in liquid cooling for high-performance computing. The all-cash deal will give Schneider a stake of 75 percent in U.S.-based Motivair, with plans to buy the rest by 2028.
