His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, in his capacity as the Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (102) of 2024, appointing Ahmed Awad Ahmed Al Haj Al Muhairi as Assistant Director General of Dubai’s Protocol and Hospitality Department for the Protocol of the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
The resolution is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Issuing decisions designating officials to Executive Council of Dubai
In November 2024, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan issued decisions relating to the appointment of deputies to the Council’s Secretary-General. Sheikh Hamdan issued Executive Council Resolution No. (86) of 2024 appointing Hamda Mohammed Jassim bin Kalban as Assistant Secretary-General of The Executive Council of Dubai for the Governance Sector.
He issued Executive Council Resolution No. (87) of 2024 appointing Samira Mohammed Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Rais as Assistant Secretary-General of the Council for the Sustainable Development Sector.
He also issued Executive Council Resolution No. (88) of 2024 appointing Dr. Hazza Khalfan Matar Al Nuaimi as Assistant Secretary-General of the Council for the Excellence and Government Services Sector.
Appointing senior Dubai Government officials
Moreover, in April 2024, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan issued a series of decisions pertaining to the appointment of senior officials across Dubai Government entities.
Sheikh Hamdan further issued Executive Council Decision No. (20) of 2024 appointing Naeema Abdullah Hassan Mohammed Ahli as CEO of the Dubai Women Establishment. The decision is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Sheikh Hamdan also issued Decision No. (22) of 2024 pertaining to the secondment of Ali Mohammed Ali Belrasheed Al Ketbi from Dubai Police, appointing him as a CEO of Dubai Government Workshop. The decision is effective from January 12, 2024, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan issued Executive Council Decision No. (23) of 2024, appointing Obaid Saif Mohammed Karaa Al Nuaimi as CEO of Aviation Security and Accident Investigation at the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. The decision is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
Naming 11 influential Arab figures to lead Young Arab Leaders initiative
Last week, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan approved the formation of the board of directors of the Young Arab Leaders initiative, naming 11 leading and influential Arab figures from diverse fields to propel it forward.
The Young Arab Leaders initiative, launched 20 years ago, embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his unwavering belief in the capability of Arab youth to shape the region’s future. The initiative aims to prepare young leaders to sustain the Arab world’s development aspirations and safeguard its civilizational legacies.
The Young Arab Leaders initiative is considered the largest specialized network that seeks to support promising Arab youth and instill in them a culture of entrepreneurship, belief in the future, and relentless pursuit of knowledge, strengthening comprehensive development plans across the region.
Moreover, the board of directors of the Young Arab Leaders initiative is chaired by His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation. It includes prominent figures from across the region such as Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa from Bahrain, Dr. Tamam Menko from Jordan, Fahad AlGhanim from Kuwait, Aïssata Lam from Mauritania, Ibrahim Mohtaseb from Saudi Arabia, Mona Ataya from Palestine, Basil El-Baz from Egypt, Yazen Altimimi from Iraq, Nasser Al-Khater from Qatar, and Sami Daud from Oman.
Sheikh Hamdan also appointed Fatma Rashid Bujsaim as the Secretary-General of the initiative.
