His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, raised the UAE flag at the Abu Dhabi Executive Office on Sunday, marking the UAE’s Flag Day.
His Highness expressed pride in Flag Day as a symbol of national unity and an occasion to reaffirm belonging and loyalty to the country and the leadership.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed highlighted that this day embodies pride and honour and strengthens the values of solidarity and cohesion among the nation’s people, renewing the commitment to preserve the UAE’s achievements and uphold its noble mission.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court; His Excellency Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; and His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, attended the flag-raising ceremony.
Moreover, Her Excellency Sara Awadh Musallam, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge; His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport; His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health; His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement; His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and a number of employees of Abu Dhabi government also attended the ceremony.
The UAE Flag Day
During a speech in November 2013, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called upon the people of the UAE to celebrate ‘Flag Day’ on November 3 every year as a national campaign to celebrate the anniversary of the accession of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE.
He urged all Emiratis to participate in the event and called upon government entities and departments as well as ministries to hoist the national flag on buildings. The Cabinet has issued a procedural guide on the use of the UAE flag to preserve its prestige and status as a symbol of the country and national honor for the people of the UAE.
