Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed visits ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign center at Expo City Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited the relief aid collection center for the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign today at Expo City Dubai.

A national initiative for humanitarian support

This national initiative, launched to support the people of Lebanon affected by the ongoing crisis, aims to gather public donations in partnership with humanitarian and charitable organizations. The campaign was initiated under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; and the oversight of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs Families Affairs, as well as Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

Engagement with volunteers and organizers

During his visit, HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed was joined by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation. He received updates on the efforts of the volunteers and organizers involved in the campaign. Over 4,000 volunteers have gathered at Expo City Dubai to assemble more than 10,000 emergency relief kits.

The ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, which began last Tuesday and will continue until Monday, 21 October, aims to send urgent relief packages to Lebanon, addressing critical humanitarian needs amidst the ongoing crisis.

Commitment to solidarity and compassion

His Highness emphasized that the campaign embodies the UAE’s core values of solidarity and compassion, reflecting its dedication to humanitarian efforts that support vulnerable communities. He highlighted the leadership’s commitment to assisting nations in distress, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need globally. His Highness further noted that this initiative demonstrates the UAE’s solidarity with the Lebanese people and the strong bonds between the two nations during these trying times.

Collaborative efforts in relief aid collection

Dubai Cares is spearheading the relief aid collection, collaborating with volunteers from various nationalities, alongside donors and business leaders in Dubai.

Upcoming collection drives

In addition to Expo City Dubai, the relief package collection and packing campaign will take place tomorrow (Sunday) at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal (Building 1) and will continue on Saturday, 19 October, at Expo Centre Sharjah.
