His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, visited the interactive exhibits of government entities at the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi. Accompanying Sheikh Mansour was H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The exhibits aim to showcase the ongoing achievements of government entities at the national level and their efforts to improve services and enhance the quality of life for citizens and residents.

Moreover, they seek to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices between government entities to maximize the benefits of innovative solutions that support the UAE’s vision of enhancing its competitiveness as one of the best countries in the world for living, working, and visiting.

Supporting national development efforts

During his visit to the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed was briefed on key initiatives and projects that have significantly transformed services. In addition, he reaffirmed that improving the quality of life for all community segments is a strategic priority for the UAE leadership.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed also commended the efforts of various government entities and the teams working on quality projects and initiatives. He also highlighted the achievements that support the nation’s ongoing efforts to make significant strides in development, benefiting the welfare and prosperity of all community members.

“All emirates and regions of the country are witnessing considerable efforts and major projects, whether in developing and enhancing infrastructure, improving and facilitating government services, or simplifying procedures through the integration of the latest technologies, as well as in community projects targeting all community segments. The efforts of the state aim to achieve balanced development across all regions and at all social and economic levels,” he added.

UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024

During the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024, the government discussed key advancements and challenges facing growth. The UAE Cabinet convened at the meetings to review and discuss the agendas of governmental federal-local integration and to set clear objectives and a national agenda for the upcoming year 2025.

The Cabinet reviewed the progress of federal housing plans, citing the progress the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program has made. During the UAE Government Annual Meetings, the Cabinet also approved the National Anti-Drugs Strategy (2024-2031), a comprehensive plan encompassing various programs and initiatives that aim for a drug-free UAE by 2031. The strategy also aims to reduce mortality rates resulting from drug use.

The Cabinet also ratified several agreements and memoranda with various countries, covering areas such as legal cooperation, economic and civil affairs, healthcare, and investment. Notable among these are comprehensive economic partnership agreements with Jordan and South Korea. It also ratified an agreement on cooperation in the field of nursing accreditation with the United States.

The Cabinet then reviewed the annual results of the Industry Development Council (IDC) for 2023, highlights of which included securing AED6.17 billion in financing solutions through strategic partners of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

During the UAE Government Annual Meetings, the Cabinet also endorsed the UAE’s plans to host the Joint Annual Meeting of Arab Financial Institutions in Abu Dhabi in 2026, marking the 50th anniversary of the Arab Monetary Fund. The Cabinet also approved hosting the 2025 Meridian Conference on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection, positioning the UAE as a regional leader in finance and security.
