His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced today the launch of the Fathers’ Endowment, a charity campaign on behalf of all fathers. This initiative honors fathers in the UAE by establishing a sustainable endowment fund valued at AED1 billion, with proceeds dedicated to providing treatment and healthcare to the poor and needy.
“Brothers and sisters, a great and holy month will be upon us in the coming days. In keeping with our annual custom of launching a humanitarian Ramadan campaign from the people of the UAE, we are launching today the “Father’s Endowment”… a sustainable endowment to be an ongoing charity on behalf of all fathers in the UAE,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a post on social media platform X.
Sheikh Mohammed added that the father is the first role model, support and teacher. He is the source of strength, wisdom and security.
Endowment to provide healthcare support
Sheikh Mohammed described the Fathers’ Endowment campaign as an “ongoing charity in a sustainable humanitarian endowment in the name of our fathers, the proceeds of which will be allocated to treating patients and providing healthcare for the poor, needy and unable to pay.”
The Fathers’ Endowment campaign aims to provide treatment and healthcare for the poor and needy, and those who cannot afford treatment. Proceeds will support healthcare systems through hospital development and the provision of medicine and treatment. By allowing donations in fathers’ names, the campaign reinforces the values of honoring parents and social solidarity while strengthening the UAE’s philanthropic standing by establishing a sustainable endowment that provides healthcare for the underprivileged.
It promotes generosity and philanthropy, as well as the culture of endowments, creating a community-wide movement that leverages charitable contributions to achieve sustainable healthcare for millions.
The Dubai ruler called on everyone to participate in the Fathers’ Endowment, which aligns with the Year of Community announced by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier this year.
“We aim to bring hearts closer and establish love, cohesion and solidarity in all families. May God protect the UAE and have mercy on its founding fathers and perpetuate goodness and mercy on all fathers in the UAE,” concluded Sheikh Mohammed.

Dubai launches annual Ramadan campaigns
The launch of the Fathers’ Endowment campaign is a continuation of Sheikh Mohammed’s established practice of launching charitable and humanitarian initiatives during Ramadan. It reflects the UAE’s deeply rooted culture of giving and reinforces Sheikh Mohammed’s belief that the path of giving is an endless and invaluable one.
Last year, the Dubai ruler launched the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This campaign sought to honor mothers in the UAE by establishing a sustainable endowment fund worth AED1 billion ($272.26 million). The fund provided support for education globally, benefiting millions of individuals.
The Mothers’ Endowment campaign built upon the success of previous Ramadan campaigns launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid over the past four years. These campaigns include the ’10 Million Meals’ in 2020, the ‘100 Million Meals’ in 2021, the ‘1 Billion Meals’ in 2022, and the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ in 2023.
Launched in 2015, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) consolidate over 30 initiatives and organizations championed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum over two decades. MBRGI’s mission focuses on 5 main pillars: Humanitarian Aid and Relief, Healthcare and Disease Control, Spreading Education and Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Empowering Communities.
