His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Housing Project for Citizens, which supports Dubai’s social agenda and features 672 villas under construction. Located in the Wadi Al Amardi area in Dubai, the project has a total cost of AED1.4 billion ($381.2 million), and includes endowment markets, a mosque, a public park, and service facilities designed to meet the needs of Emirati families.

The new residential project is directly overseen by Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It received its name to commemorate the legacy of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Strengthening family and community values

Her Highness launched this initiative through the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme which receives support from the project. Through this initiative, the program works to strengthen family connections while building community values, improving lifestyle standards, fostering a vibrant social scene, and supporting the integration of professional life with personal life.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that new residential projects for citizens reflect Dubai’s efforts to continuously raise infrastructure standards in the emirate’s emerging neighborhoods. “Our objective is to ensure that every citizen enjoys a fully integrated environment that promotes stability and comfort, while providing access to the highest standards of living and well-being,” he said.

Project development overview

During the visit, His Highness was briefed on the project plan, which is being developed by his engineering office. The residential development includes green environments along with interconnected spaces and essential features like the Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum mosque and endowment market shops combined with family-friendly parks and specific Emirati family-friendly villa designs.

The development consists of four phases where phase one, with 124 homes, will finish in 2026, followed by phase two with 208 homes in 2027, then phase three with 199 homes in 2029, and phase four, which contains 141 homes, will wrap up in 2032.

Supporting Dubai’s social agenda

The residential development further supports Dubai Social Agenda 33, which targets becoming the best city for living and housing services in the world. The housing project received support from Dubai’s government through its citizens’ housing program while following directives from the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Through optimal land use along with varied housing options, residential developments with green spaces, shopping facilities, and recreational areas, the program guarantees future housing requirements.
