His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Ruler, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, visited today the UAE pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan.
Commenting on his visit, Sheikh Mohammed wrote on X: “I was impressed by the design of our national pavilion, inspired by the palm tree, which reimagines the traditional “Arish” — the Old homes built from palm fronds and trunks. However, the content of the UAE “Arish” showcases our space projects, future initiatives in the health sector, and our progress in sustainability projects.”
The UAE pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka “embodies our commitment to our authentic past and our passion for the future,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

“Our relationship with Japan dates back to 1972, and today, our ties with all nations are strong through our global participation and hosting of international events. Thanks to our young men and women, our unsung heroes, who travel the world to share our story, identity, culture, and passion for the future,” Sheikh Mohammed added.
UAE to host discussions on key growth sectors
The UAE has recently unveiled the full vision for its national pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, taking place in Japan from April 13- October 13, 2025. Located within the Empowering Lives Zone, the UAE Pavilion presents a bold vision of collective progress through its theme, “Earth to Ether”. This theme reflects the country’s ongoing journey from its deeply rooted cultural heritage to a future driven by innovation, imagination, and exploration – bridging the physical and intangible frontiers.
“The UAE’s participation in World Expos has consistently reflected a commitment to dialogue, collaboration, and the pursuit of collective progress,” stated Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, and Commissioner of Expo Office – UAE.
Al Kaabi added that returning to Japan 55 years after the UAE’s first participation in the Expo represents a continuation of the country’s legacy of meaningful presence, reflecting its commitment to building a more inclusive and interconnected global future.
Over the six-month duration, the UAE Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai will host key opportunities for learning, collaboration and the co-creation of new futures through its curated calendar of more than 40 public-facing programs.
The pavilion’s program will include sustainable technology forums, healthcare dialogues, youth empowerment activities and discussions on space exploration and technological innovation, and expand into Expo Osaka’s thematic weeks. Each experience will reflect how tradition drives innovation, fostering a culture of open dialogue and inquiry.
