The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued a circular to all ministries and federal entities regarding the holiday for Prophet’s birthday in the federal government.

“Based on the UAE Cabinet resolution regarding the approved official 2024 holiday agenda for the government and private sectors in the country, it has been decided that the holiday for the Prophet’s birthday will be on Sunday, September 15, 2024,” the circular stated.

The birthday of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) is observed on the 12th of Rabi Al Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. It is a significant religious event in Islam, observed by Muslims around the world. The day is observed as a national holiday across several Islamic countries. It’s also celebrated in non-Muslim countries among communities that have a large Muslim population.

Mosques are often adorned with lights and host religious lectures and recitals of Qur’anic verses to mark the occasion.
