CEOs from technology and artificial intelligence sectors expressed to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the UAE boasts a strategic vision that blends ambition with intelligent technology investments, positioning it as a global innovation center. This approach not only boosts its economic profile but also establishes its place on the international innovation map, serving as a model for sustainable future pursuits.

Attracting global investments

They emphasized the UAE’s allure for foreign investments; its outstanding business climate and adaptable regulations create abundant opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. Such policies have drawn major global tech firms, leading to numerous innovative projects and initiatives. This positions the UAE as a hub for modern technologies, including AI and robotics, affirming its proactive role in shaping the future of the tech industry.

Abdullah Mohammad, chief commercial officer at Mappable, GCC, noted that the UAE has cemented its status as a global tech and innovation center through strategic initiatives and investments. The nation has become fertile ground for advanced technologies, such as AI and the Internet of Things.

He highlighted that the UAE’s proactive steps to incorporate technology across various sectors—including government services, logistics, retail, healthcare, and education—underscore its commitment to tech advancement and create a conducive environment for global tech companies. The UAE’s leadership in technology drives economic diversification and establishes a standard for global innovation.

He pointed out that Gitex Global 2024 exemplifies the technological evolution in the UAE, serving as a platform that showcases groundbreaking innovations and fosters international collaboration.

Pioneering AI adoption

Roman Karlash, CEO of Yango, commented that the UAE has emerged as a global leader in technology by being one of the first nations to embrace AI, backed by diligent efforts to steer its economy toward innovation through forward-thinking regulations that support growth, particularly in the tech sector.

He further affirmed that technology is transforming entire sectors, with Gitex playing a crucial role in the UAE’s aspiration to become a global technology hub. It also acts as a central venue for industry leaders to collaborate on driving innovation and displaying the latest advancements.

Vikas Panchal, general manager MENA at Tally Solutions, remarked that the UAE has established itself as a frontrunner in technological progress, marked by visionary leadership and a commitment to strengthening a robust digital economy. Furthermore, Holger Reisinger, senior vice president at Gabra, stated that the UAE has made remarkable progress in enhancing technological innovation through strategic investments and supportive policies. He highlighted that the UAE hosts major technology events like Gitex, which serves as a vital platform for showcasing innovations, fostering communication, and enhancing collaboration among industry leaders, partners, and clients.

Advancing Dubai Cashless Strategy

Last week, Dubai Finance (DOF) finalized eight significant agreements to advance the Dubai Cashless Strategy, recently launched by the Government of Dubai in collaboration with the Dubai Digital Authority (DDA) and DOF. These agreements were announced during the Gitex Global 2024 event in Dubai. They lay the groundwork for the Smart Installment System and the pilot implementation of the Biometric Payment System within the Dubai Government. These innovative systems are designed to enhance payment processes for government transactions and services for Dubai Government customers.

Enhancing healthcare access in Abu Dhabi

In a similar vein, Abu Dhabi-based healthcare platform PureHealth has launched a new hybrid technology platform that integrates remote and in-hospital healthcare services, thereby improving patient access to a variety of specialties in remote areas. Now accessible following a successful pilot phase, this service specifically targets residents of the Al Dhafra region. Patients can visit SEHA-affiliated facilities in Al Dhafra for remote healthcare consultations and medical evaluations with doctors from PureHealth’s extensive network.
