UAE strengthens global sporting profile
The UAE’s inclusion marks a significant step in its ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in international sport. The membership enables the UAE to participate in major global tournaments, including the World Boxing Championships 2025, scheduled to take place in Liverpool from 4–14 September 2025.
World Boxing’s commitment to Olympic integrity
World Boxing, established in April 2023, was formed with the core mission of safeguarding the sport’s place within the Olympic movement, following concerns over governance in previous boxing bodies.
All newly admitted federations, including the UAE, were required to meet strict membership criteria, including robust governance standards, anti-doping compliance, effective dispute resolution mechanisms, and official recognition by their national sports authorities.
Pathway to Olympic participation
With this membership, the UAE Boxing Federation gains access to new international competition pathways, athlete development opportunities, and a stronger voice in the global boxing community.
The announcement is seen as a milestone for the UAE’s sporting ambitions, reinforcing its role as a dynamic and emerging player in global sports governance and elite athlete development.
