The UAE government has revealed the “Unified UAE Numbers” project, a pioneering national initiative designed to enhance and fortify the country’s statistical system, thereby supporting its continuous growth across various economic, demographic, social, environmental, and other domains.

The announcement took place during an event attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with leaders and officials from the nation’s statistical centers.

Aiming for global leadership

This initiative, involving all local governments through their respective statistical centers, aims to establish the UAE as a global frontrunner in leveraging data and statistics for informed decision-making. The project concentrates on three primary areas: promoting a proactive economy, supporting communities and society, and driving sustainable environments and renewable energy sources.

Commitment to innovative solutions

During the event, Sheikh Mansour underscored that the project exemplifies the UAE government’s dedication to embracing innovative technologies and solutions for utilizing data and statistics in decision-making processes. This effort is in collaboration with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, local statistical centers, executive councils across the nation, and private sector stakeholders.

Unifying national efforts

His Highness Sheikh Mansour added, “The achievements in statistics and data in the UAE serve as a cornerstone for ongoing development efforts, uniting us as a cohesive national team.”

In a meeting with officials from statistical centers, Sheikh Mansour commended the cooperation between federal and local authorities, including the National Statistics Committee, which is spearheaded by the Federal Centre for Competitiveness and Statistics, along with the participation of various ministries and government agencies.

He emphasized the critical role of data in enabling the UAE government to formulate well-informed policies and decisions, supported by precise and comprehensive statistics that enhance the nation’s competitiveness in vital development sectors.

Enhancing global competitiveness

The unified numbers project also aims to optimize the national statistical release calendar and ensure the accurate generation of indicators at the national level. Additionally, it seeks to improve global competitiveness and foster international collaboration by offering detailed and precise data on the UAE’s standing in global rankings, such as GDP, inflation, foreign investment, infrastructure, the environment, and tourism.

Transition to digital integration

Furthermore, the initiative envisions a complete transition to integrated digital surveys, encouraging data and digital integration efforts while establishing accurate records based on intelligent data collection and analysis. By harnessing modern technologies and digital platforms, the unified numbers project aspires to create a cohesive data environment that supports strategic decision-making for national development.
