The UAE ranked first globally in the fiber optic network penetration to homes for 2025 with a rate of 99.5 percent, according to the FTTH global ranking 2025.
According to data shared by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the UAE has upheld its position as a global leader in fiber optic penetration and deployment for the ninth consecutive year.
On this occasion, His Excellency Talal Belhoul Al Falasi, chairman of TDRA’s Board of Directors, remarked, “The UAE has maintained its world’s first place in FTTH for the ninth consecutive year, confirming our wise leadership vision to establish an advanced digital infrastructure that enhances the quality of life and enables everyone access to cutting-edge digital services. We commend the efforts of service providers, who have contributed to achieve this milestone. Our ongoing investment in the telecom sector establishes the UAE as a global innovation hub.”

Digital transformation and technological leadership
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, director general of TDRA, said, “We are proud of the UAE for continuing its standing as Global Leader in FTTH network access by 99.5 percent. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to promoting the digital infrastructure and offering the fastest and best connectivity services, all in line with the country’s vision toward digital transformation and technological leadership.”
“We thank the service providers who have contributed to this success by their continued efforts in telecom sector development,” Al Mesmar further noted.
Moreover, His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Yousef Al-Ramsi, deputy director-general for the Telecommunications Sector (DDG-T), highlighted, “We commend the role of service providers in achieving this milestone, where they were the cornerstone for sustaining UAE’s position as world leader in FTTH network penetration for the ninth year in a row. We will continue to work with them to ensure a more evolved and innovative future.”
