UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced an urgent relief package of $100 million for the people of Lebanon. This initiative, WAM reported, reflects the UAE’s ongoing dedication to supporting Lebanon during its current hardships, highlighting the country’s steadfast commitment to aiding the Lebanese population.

In August 2020, the UAE increased its aid to Lebanon to support emergency relief efforts in Beirut, following the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
The UAE sent shipment of emergency medical aid to Lebanon to support healthcare facilities. This assistance, comprising medications and medical supplies, demonstrates the UAE’s solidarity with the Lebanese people.
Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) facilitated the airlift of aid valued at $1.4 million aboard an Emirates SkyCargo flight. This shipment included nearly 25 metric tons of medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE), such as surgical masks, goggles, gowns, coveralls, N95 respirators, stretchers, and thermometers, all of which had been prepositioned in the International Humanitarian City by the World Health Organization.
In 2023, after a meeting between Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of Lebanon, at Qasr Al-Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness emphasized the UAE’s steadfast commitment to Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, as well as its ongoing support for the Lebanese people. He reaffirmed that the UAE’s stance is rooted in backing all efforts that enhance Lebanon’s security, stability, and unity, ultimately benefiting its citizens.
