UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met today with Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of leaders from both nations. Earlier today, President Aoun arrived in Abu Dhabi, marking the start of his official visit to the UAE, which came in response to an invitation from Sheikh Mohammed.
President Aoun was received by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister Khalifa Shaheen, and Lebanon’s Ambassador to the UAE, Fouad Chehab Dandan, along with other figures.

UAE, Lebanon seek stronger cooperation across various fields
President Aoun’s visit to the UAE comes following Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council’s (FNC) visit to Beirut last week. During his visit, Ghobash met with Dr. Nawaf Salam, Lebanon’s Prime Minister.
The two sides reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Lebanon and discussed ways to strengthen and expand cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Ghobash also met with President Aoun last week, where they affirmed the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between the UAE and Lebanon, highlighting the extensive cultural, economic and social ties binding the two nations. They also emphasised the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both peoples and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s security, stability and prosperity.

Greater cooperation in cultural sector
Ahead of President Aoun’s arrival to the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Dr. Ghassan SalamĂ©, Minister of Culture of Lebanon. During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them to serve their mutual interests.
The meeting also touched upon prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the cultural sector and creative industries. The two sides further addressed a number of issues of common interest, in addition to the latest developments on the Lebanese scene.
