UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will begin an official visit to Russia tomorrow, August 7.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed will discuss with Russian President His Excellency Vladimir Putin various aspects of the strategic partnership between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade, investment, energy and other areas that serve joint development.
The two leaders are also set to discuss several regional and international issues of common interest.
Sheikh Khaled meets with Putin
In late June, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with Putin on the sidelines of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Minsk, Belarus.
The meeting explored the deep-rooted friendship and strong strategic partnership between the UAE and Russia, where the two sides exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest and discussed several key items on the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting agenda, particularly the importance of advancing sustainable development goals to foster prosperity for nations and communities worldwide.
UAE, Russia Presidents seek stronger ties
The UAE President last met with Putin in October 2024, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen ties as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries. They also addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, His Highness and the Russian President reviewed progress in UAE-Russia relations in recent years, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment, space and energy, within the context of the strategic partnership between the two nations. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further developing these relations across all levels.
The meeting also addressed the BRICS Summit and the group’s role in promoting international collective efforts to achieve shared global objectives. In this context, Sheikh Mohamed commended Putin’s efforts in leading BRICS during its current session and expressed his best wishes for Russia’s continued success in its presidency of the group.
