Many airlines in the Middle East region continued to suspend or reroute flights on Tuesday following the attack on U.S. military bases in Qatar on Monday night. Despite a late Monday ceasefire announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump between Iran and Israel, some UAE, Qatar and foreign airlines continued to suspend and reroute flights today.
Some of the airlines that suspended and rerouted flights today include:
Emirates
In a statement late Monday, Emirates said that due to the recent regional developments, a number of flights were rerouted en route to Dubai on June 23, but there were no diversions.
“After a thorough and careful risk assessment, Emirates will continue to operate flights as scheduled, using flight paths well distanced from conflict areas. Some flights may incur delays due to longer re-routings or airspace congestion, but Emirates’ teams are working hard to keep to schedule and minimize any disruption or inconvenience to our customers,” the statement added.
Etihad Airways
Among other UAE airlines, Etihad Airways cancelled flights to several GCC destinations on Monday, namely Qatar. According to the airline’s flight tracker, flights EY651 from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait and EY652 from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi were cancelled today.
The airline has also cancelled flights EY663 and EY664 from Abu Dhabi to Doha and from Doha to Abu Dhabi. Flights to and from Dammam were also cancelled today (EY575 and EY576).
flydubai
Meanwhile, flydubai said in a travel update issued today that due to the situation in the region, some of its flights have been impacted.
“We are working to minimize any disruption. flydubai continues to monitor the situation closely, the safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority,” the statement added.
According to the UAE-based airline’s flight tracker, all flights to Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain are operational today, except flight FZ028 between Dubai and Bahrain, which was cancelled.
AirArabia
Late last night, Air Arabia said that due to the escalating situation and airspace closures across the region, some flights may experience disruptions.
“Customers are advised to check their flight status on airarabia.com for the latest updates. Affected passengers will be notified directly via SMS and email. Air Arabia remains fully committed to the safety of our customers and crew, and we continue to closely monitor the situation,” the statement added.

Qatar Airways
Finally, Qatar Airways announced the reinstatement of flights following the reopening of the State of Qatar’s airspace. In a statement, Qatar Airways expressed: “Our focus at this time is to help our passengers return home or reach their onward journey safely and smoothly.” The airline added that it is working diligently with government stakeholders and relevant authorities to restore operations as swiftly as possible.
“As usual operations resume, we anticipate significant delays to our flight schedule,” the airline added, advising passengers to check qatarairways.com or the Qatar Airways mobile application ahead of travel.
