The UAE announced the issuance of multiple-entry tourist visas to football fans traveling to Qatar to attend the 2022 World Cup, according to an official statement.
This action “fits within the framework of the UAE’s support for the sisterly State of Qatar to organize the 2022 World Cup by hosting visitors to the event and allowing them to enter the Emirates,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Holders of the Hayya card, which is designated for Qatar World Cup fans, will be able to obtain an entry visa and residency in the UAE for up to ninety days for only 100 dirhams (or $27), with the option of an extension for an additional 90 days.
The visa “allows multiple entries and exits from the UAE during its validity period,” the statement said.
The World Cup finals will be held in the Arab world and the Middle East for the first time this year, from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18.
Hayya card will be the only gateway for fans wishing to enter Qatar during the World Cup.
Earlier this week, Saeed Al Kuwari, Executive Director of the Hayya platform at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) said that as many as 260,000 Hayya cards have been issued to fans ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Last week, Saudi Arabia announced that all Hayya card holders would be granted multiple-entry visas.
