UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Ahmad Al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, who is in the country for a working visit.
The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, allowed His Highness and the Syrian President to discuss the fraternal relations between their nations and explore avenues to enhance cooperation, particularly in development and economic sectors, in a manner that serves their mutual interests and promotes progress and prosperity for their peoples.

Both leaders exchanged views on regional issues of shared concern, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the foundations of peace, security, and stability in the Middle East, benefiting all its nations and advancing the development and prosperity of their populations.

Ongoing support for the Syrian people
His Highness reiterated the UAE’s unwavering support for the Syrian people and all efforts aimed at realizing their aspirations for development, stability, and a prosperous future.
In turn, the Syrian President expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the UAE’s ongoing support for Syria and its citizens, as well as His Highness’ dedication to nurturing fraternal ties between the two countries.

The meeting included notable attendees. H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was present. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended as well. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, was there. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, also participated. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, was in attendance. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, chairman of the UAE Football Association, joined the meeting too.
Moreover, Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, secretary-general of the Supreme Council for National Security, was present. Dr. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE President, attended as well. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, was there. Additionally, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, participated too. Several Sheikhs and senior officials were also in attendance.

Members of the delegation accompanying the Syrian President were also in attendance, including Asaad Al-Shaibani, Syrian minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, along with several senior officials.
His Excellency President Al-Sharaa arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier yesterday, where he was welcomed at Al Bateen Airport by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs, along with a number of senior officials.
