UAE establishes a comprehensive team dedicated to transformational services

The Ministry of Finance in the UAE has successfully revamped three critical government services through a comprehensive three-month accelerator program. The strategic move aligns with the Government Services Development Guide 2.0. It has streamlined user experiences and marked a milestone in the UAE’s journey towards leading in government services.

Immediate access and streamlined processes

The redesign initiative has improved user experience, making service access immediate and steps for services more straightforward. Therefore, the ministry has strategically employed advanced technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to achieve this. This employment of technology reflects the government’s commitment to swift digitalization following the recent signing of the Government Services Quality Charter.

Moreover, the Ministry of Finance has expanded its delivery channels to offer greater accessibility. In addition to the smart application and website, users can now access services through the popular messaging platform WhatsApp. This diversification aims to cater to a broader audience and enhance the overall accessibility of government services in the UAE.

Minister of State for Financial Affairs His Excellency Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini emphasized the government’s dedication to incorporating user insights in service design. This commitment directly contributes to societal well-being, bolstering the UAE’s digital readiness and competitiveness on the global stage. Thus, the ministry’s focus on user-centric design is a pivotal element in providing an exceptional experience for its users.

His Excellency stated: “We prioritize involving customers in the design of services and benefiting from their suggestions.” He added that this “contributes to the continuous development of government services to achieve top positions in global indicators.”

Redefined services

The Ministry of Finance’s commitment to excellence is evident through its establishment of a comprehensive team dedicated to transformational services. Guided by the Government Services Development Guide 2.0, the team aims to test the UAE’s government services using multiple criteria.  The criteria involve speed, proactivity, inclusiveness, security, and ease of use. Moreover, the transformative tracks outlined in accelerated programs are geared toward achieving targeted outcomes within a maximum of three months.

The three services redefined by the Ministry of Finance are:

  • submitting inquiries for federal entities accounting
  • supplier registration in federal supplier register
  • submitting inquiries about the ministry’s services

The services now include automatic data extraction, generative artificial intelligence responses, and simplification of registration processes. Therefore, this contributes to a more efficient and user-friendly government service experience.

The ministry’s commitment extends to providing round-the-clock support, ensuring customers receive assistance faster and more efficiently. The integration of AI enhances the accuracy and speed of information retrieval. It also allows for automatic resubmission of inquiries for an improved and renewed support experience.
