The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today the lifting of the travel ban on UAE nationals to the Republic of Lebanon. Travel will be permitted as of May 7, 2025.
The decision was implemented under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and in line with the unwavering endeavours to enhance fraternal ties with Lebanon.
The announcement follows the official visit of Joseph Aoun, President of Lebanon, to the UAE and his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed. The UAE President and Aoun agreed to reinstate travel for citizens after taking the necessary procedures and mechanisms to ease movement between the two nations.
Mandatory Twajudi service registration
UAE citizens must register in the “Twajudi” service before traveling to ensure effective communication, whether traveling directly through UAE airports or from any other country in the world. The Ministry noted that registration in the “Twajudi” service is mandatory, and individuals must inform the relevant authorities upon their return through the service too.
UAE citizens wishing to travel to Lebanon are prohibited from leaving the country’s ports before completing their registration, to avoid suspension of travel procedures and legal accountability.
In the announcement, the ministry also urged UAE nationals to provide complete and accurate information, including their intended address in Lebanon, contact details for emergencies and the purpose of travel. Any changes must be promptly updated. Failure to register or update one’s residential information may lead to legal consequences.
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasizes the importance of adhering to these procedures to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
