UAE’s UAQ Department of Tourism signs agreement to develop tourism sector in the emirate

The agreement also aims to promote the development of tourism in UAQ and contribute to the growth of the local economy.

Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, chairman of the Umm Al Qaiwain (UAQ) Tourism and Archaeology Department, participated in the signing ceremony of a collaboration agreement between the department and the Lakhraim Group. 

The development took place during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, which concluded on May 9. 

The deal seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and entertainment.

Moreover, the agreement’s broader purpose is to promote the development of tourism in the Emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain and contribute to the growth of the local economy.

This initiative is recognized as an important and sustainable contributor to the tourism sector, focusing on creating attractive opportunities for tourism investment and enhancing various tourist destinations within the emirate.

Additionally, the agreement encompasses a wide range of tourism initiatives, strategic plans, and infrastructure development endeavors aimed at attracting visitors from around the world.

These efforts are all geared towards improving tourism services and providing diverse and enriching experiences for tourists.

The signing of the agreement involved Haitham Sultan Al Ali, director-general of the UAQ Tourism and Archaeology Department, and Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, the newly appointed CEO of Millennium Hotels and Resorts and the Lakhraim Group.
