The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has partnered with CV VC, a leading early-stage blockchain venture capital firm in Switzerland, to forge a strategic alliance aimed at enhancing and supporting the Web3 ecosystems in both Dubai and Switzerland.

This collaboration, according to a statement, was formalized at the annual CV Summit 2024, the blockchain and Web3 event in Switzerland, which brought together thousands of industry leaders and entrepreneurs in Zug this week.

Strengthening global Web3 ecosystems

The agreement between DMCC Crypto Centre and CV VC—one of the founding entities of the Swiss Crypto Valley and operator of the international blockchain ecosystem builder CV Labs—represents a pivotal move towards strengthening relations between two of the world’s most influential Web3 ecosystems. Together, both organizations aspire to accelerate Web3 entrepreneurship across Dubai and Switzerland, creating a dynamic innovation corridor.

Collaborative initiatives ahead

As part of this regional alliance, DMCC and CV VC plan to enhance their ecosystems through collaborative and cross-border efforts, including educational programs like workshops and seminars, resource sharing, and joint events, such as the Web3 Hub at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2025. CV VC will also participate in the forthcoming DMCC-Bybit Hackathon, reinforcing their shared commitment to driving blockchain technology innovation in the region.

Unique advantages

Feryal Ahmadi, COO of DMCC, conveyed her enthusiasm about the partnership, indicating that they were excited to announce a strategic collaboration with CV VC. She mentioned that this collaboration would provide unique advantages for their members and enhance Web3 innovation between Dubai and Switzerland. Ahmadi emphasized the considerable benefits that could arise from improved collaboration, knowledge transfer, and resource sharing in unlocking Web3’s potential. She noted that connecting their ecosystems could drive the next phase of global Web3 adoption and foster a more interconnected and innovative future for businesses worldwide.

Mathias Ruch, founder and CEO of CV VC, remarked that this partnership offered a valuable opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and resources, which would strengthen the growth of the blockchain sector in both the Middle East and Switzerland.

Olaf Hannemann, co-founder and CIO of CV VC, added that from an investment perspective, they believed the Middle Eastern ecosystem had matured significantly in recent years, thanks to a long-term vision and a strong commitment to investing in future technologies.
