The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an electronic link that will streamline the licensing processes for health facilities in Sharjah.

Enhancing regulatory services

This initiative enhances regulatory services by integrating best practices in digital transformation, aligning with government directives.

The MoU was signed at SEDD’s Main Office by Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, assistant under-secretary for the Health Regulation Sector at MoHAP, and Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, chairman of SEDD. The signing ceremony was attended by various managers from both organizations.

The agreement aims to advance digital transformation across all transactions related to health facility licensing in Sharjah, enhancing the customer experience by accelerating and integrating government procedures. It also seeks to improve efficiency, quality, and flexibility, in accordance with “We the UAE Vision 2031.”

Commitment to digital infrastructure

Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri highlighted that the MoU will significantly strengthen the strategic partnership between government entities, ensuring seamless integration by coordinating efforts, streamlining procedures, and expediting their completion to meet customer expectations.

The commitment to leveraging advanced digital infrastructure aims to enhance health facility licensing services.

Decision-making efficiency

This MoU is part of a broader initiative by the Ministry to establish electronic connections for all services related to health facility licensing with local economic development departments. It facilitates effective data and information exchange between entities, speeding up the decision-making process and aiming to reduce bureaucracy through a sophisticated strategic partnership.

This collaboration will not only enhance cooperation but also utilize the human and knowledge resources available to each entity, ultimately benefiting customers and the wider community.

Dr. Al Amiri further remarked that the agreement aims for strategic integration to ensure the delivery of swift and efficient licensing services, which will enhance the attractiveness of the health sector for investment and support sustainable growth.
