The MIITE Forum, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in collaboration with ADDED and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), will be held on 27-28 May, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre. The theme for this edition is “Investment, Sustainability, Growth.”

The sponsorship categories for the MIITE Forum include the Diamond Category, which features Dubai Industrial City, Emirates Development Bank (EDB), and Mubadala; the Gold Category, which includes PureHealth, Tawazun Economic Council, Emirates Steel Arkan, AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB); and the Silver and Bronze Categories, which include TAQA, EDGE, Dubai Investments, Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), and UAE Space Agency.

Advancing clean energy solutions

The Forum will focus on the progress of the industrial sector and its role in the growth and development of advanced industries, clean energy solutions, the enhancement of food and pharmaceutical manufacturing, attracting industrial investments, and supporting technological transformation. It will also acknowledge the UAE’s most innovative industrial pioneers for their contributions to shaping the future of the sector.

Showcasing localized production

Dr. Al Jaber highlighted that the MIITE Forum serves as a platform for initiating conversations regarding industrial partnerships and opportunities for collaboration between both national and global companies. Additionally, it provides a platform to showcase possibilities for localizing production and redirecting procurement towards the national economy. The MIITE Forum aims to leverage the purchasing power of the local market to advance the industrial sector in alignment with the directives of our leadership, which aims to create a conducive environment supportive of growth, he added.

Attracting highly skilled professionals

For his part, Al Zaabi emphasized that the industrial sector assumes a critical function in the accomplishment of the objectives of the forthcoming phase of our development. It was mentioned that the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy concentrates on the advancement and attraction of exceptionally skilled professionals, improvement in financial accessibility for industrial enterprises, facilitation of business operations, as well as the encouragement of both local and foreign investments. Also, the programs within the strategy are aimed at bolstering the domestic supply chain and broadening the reach of UAE-manufactured goods in global markets, Al Zaabi added.

Celebrating localization and sustainability

During the Forum, MoIAT will host the second edition of the MIITE Awards, which aim to recognize companies that have made significant contributions to industrial and technological development, localization, sustainability, and innovation.

The previous MIITE Forum and exhibition included the inaugural MIITE Awards, which celebrated visionaries, sustainability champions, and game-changers who have contributed to the UAE’s transformation into a global manufacturing hub. The prestigious awards further honored winners in 10 categories across five fields: ICV, Sustainability, Factory of the Future, Industry Enablers and Strategic Partners, and Leadership and Talent.

Incentivizing the industrial sector

Moreover, the Forum reflects MoIAT’s commitment to empower and incentivize national and global companies within the UAE’s industrial sector. By showcasing their success stories, the forum supports Emirati youth, entrepreneurs, and startup owners in launching their projects and exploring potential investment opportunities.
