Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Government has announced the extension of the Arab Government Excellence Award for an additional four years, in a strategic collaboration with the Arab League. This award is designed to advocate for and promote enhanced performance leadership within the public sector across the region.
The agreement, WAM reported, was finalized by Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary-general of the League of Arab States, and Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE minister of Cabinet Affairs and chairman of the World Governments Summit (WGS), on the concluding day of the event.
Significance of the award
Ahmed Aboul Gheit underscored the significance of the award, describing it as both a source of inspiration and a catalyst for improving efficiency in Arab governments. He pointed out its vital role in fostering innovative approaches to work, aiming for the highest levels of productivity and effectiveness. Aboul Gheit also remarked that the award motivates governments to adopt bold thinking, embrace competitiveness, and pursue excellence.

In recent years, the Arab Government Excellence Award has recognized 66 winners across its three editions, celebrating ministries, government entities, and public sector professionals throughout the Arab region. The award also included special recognition for outstanding initiatives that have made excellence a driving force for governmental progress and achievement.
