The Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Emirates Nature-WWF are launching the second edition of the Ambassadors for Nature Programme, building on the success of their youth empowerment movement. The initiative is part of the broader COP28 Youth Climate and Nature Series.

The program targets individuals aged 18 to 35, encouraging them to connect with nature on a more personal level. It is also an educational program that is designed to instill new skills in the participating class. Ambassadors for Nature aims to provide a global platform for young leaders to share innovative solutions for climate and nature issues.

The first edition was launched on World Environment Day. The second edition will consist of free e-learning and training sessions, field trips, and activities. Environmental experts will touch on issues like climate change and nature loss. Furthermore, participants will get a chance to learn about the environmental initiatives already taking place in the UAE.

Additionally, the youth will experience conservation efforts firsthand through exclusive field trips, including activities like planting mangrove saplings and monitoring wildlife as citizen scientists during the Nature at Night excursion. In the first edition, initiatives like a mangrove-themed escape room involved and inspired thousands of participants.

The Connect with Nature app offers free training sessions and field trips scheduled for July, August, and September 2023. Once registered, youth can apply for the role of Ambassador of Nature. The application process requires that they demonstrate their dedication to nature.

Those chosen for Ambassador for Nature roles in 2023 will join a distinguished group of UAE youth leaders and changemakers. Ambassadors receive extensive training, mentorship, and resources to help them realize innovative solutions. To apply for this esteemed and voluntary role, candidates must meet the following criteria by the end of October 2023.
