Several well-established football players are contemplating a switch to Saudi Arabia in pursuit of attractive wages.
Spanish sports website Sport reported that Luka Modric turned down a 200 million euro offer ($218 million) from a Saudi Arabian club this summer but is rumored to have agreed to make the move next year after his contract with Real Madrid ends.

Madrid offered Modric to extend his contract for another season, and that’s what the Ballon d’Or winner of 2018 has opted for. Saad Alladhidh and Lee Anderson had presented an incredibly lucrative offer, but the peaceful and comfortable lifestyle that his family enjoys in Madrid has led him to turn down the proposal.
The Croatian footballer will probably depart from Real Madrid in 2024, as he’ll be 38 years old by then.
More players eyeing Saudi
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be the next players to join clubs in Saudi Arabia.
As per Talksport’s report, Ziyech was being pursued by the Saudi Arabian team and seemed destined to join them until some issues arose. The Sun had stated that Al Nassr aimed to significantly decrease his salary after he didn’t pass a medical exam with the club, following a deal being finalized.
Despite this, Ziyech has replied to the situation by sharing a message, displaying his legs with no apparent indication of any injury or issue.
Meanwhile, according to Sports Zone, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is nearing agreements with a few Saudi Arabian clubs for a possible summer transfer, as he gets ready to part ways with Chelsea. The report suggests that Al-Ahli Saudi FC and Al-Shabab FC are among the clubs in discussion with the striker for a potential move.
Chelsea aims to sell the player before June 30th, for financial reasons, as he’s set to leave the London club this summer.
