Strengthening partnerships

El-Kogali expressed pride in the ongoing collaboration with the UAE, noting her satisfaction with their partnership with the UAE and the Global Climate Finance Centre, which the World Bank Group co-founded at COP28. She mentioned that they would be signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Climate Finance Center later in the day to further advance this mission.

Commitment to sustainable development goals

Moreover, El-Kogali underscored the World Bank’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the importance of collaboration with the UAE, stating that the World Bank Group is dedicated to assisting countries in their pursuit of the SDGs. However, she acknowledged that this effort could not be accomplished independently. She explained that they are closely collaborating with other multilateral development banks, the private sector, and government partners, like the UAE, to enhance the lives of individuals in developing nations in meaningful and measurable ways.

Focus areas for global challenges

Additionally, El-Kogali emphasized that the World Bank Group is actively working towards the SDGs by concentrating on critical areas such as poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, clean energy, job creation, and climate action.

Support for a sustainable future

By offering financial resources, technical expertise, and policy guidance, she stated that the World Bank Group is aiding countries in addressing global challenges and fostering a more sustainable future for everyone.
