Amazon Saudi Arabia has unveiled the ‘Saudi Made‘ storefront in a move that will enhance entrepreneurship and businesses small businesses in the Kingdom.

This dedicated platform showcases thousands of products certified under the ‘Made in Saudi‘ (MIS) program. The launch marks a pivotal moment in the Kingdom’s pursuit of economic growth and self-sufficiency.

 Strengthening local collaboration

The launch of the ‘Saudi Made’ storefront was announced following an agreement signed between Eng. Abdulrahman Althukair, CEO of the Saudi Exports Development Authority, and Abdo Chlala, country manager of Amazon Saudi Arabia. This momentous occasion took place at the ‘Made in Saudi’ Exhibition 2023. It is an annual event designed to introduce Saudi products to consumers and businesses.

Amazon’s new ‘Saudi Made’ store showcases locally manufactured goods spanning various categories, including health and personal care among others. The store provides customers with a vast selection of high-quality local products and encourages them to support local businesses. It simplifies the process of discovering, exploring, and purchasing products from across the Kingdom.

Eng. Althukair emphasized the broader significance of the ‘Made in Saudi’ program, stating: “It places local businesses at the heart of a collaborative community. The program plays a key role in promoting Saudi products under one unified, trusted brand.”

Additionally, he highlighted the importance of this collaboration in expanding the reach of businesses and their competitiveness globally.

Global reach for local businesses

Thousands of local businesses have received endorsement and certification through the MIS program, signifying quality and authenticity. Therefore, these businesses now have the opportunity to access Amazon customers around the world. Additionally, Amazon launched the Global Registration Program, which streamlines the process for local businesses to sell their products globally.

Chlala emphasized the importance of this collaboration in contributing to the path toward a digital economy. He stated: “The store supports these local sellers as they expand their operations online. Launching the Saudi Made store is the first step towards a long-term partnership with Saudi Exports.” He added: “That reiterates our commitment to invest in local businesses and SMBs, providing them with the tools and services they need to succeed.”

Since Amazon Saudi Arabia’s launch in 2020, the company has consistently invested in Saudi Arabia. It offered a range of services and tools to support local businesses. Moreover, collaboration with Monsha’at, aims to empower this segment of the economy. Moreover, Amazon.sa has set an ambitious goal of hosting 40,000 Saudi sellers by 2025. It will provide them with tools like the Amazon Seller Mobile App and diverse shipping options, including Fulfillment by Amazon. These initiatives enable businesses to serve customers more efficiently and swiftly, supporting Saudi Arabia’s evolving digital landscape.
