Etihad Airways and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) have jointly announced the introduction of Abu Dhabi Stopover. This announcement took place during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, and Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.
Abu Dhabi Stopover, an exclusive offer by Etihad Airways, allows travelers with layovers in Abu Dhabi to transform their complimentary hotel stay into an extraordinary vacation. The capital of the UAE offers an enticing and convenient stopover experience, boasting world-class hotels, breathtaking beaches, a vibrant dining scene, and exhilarating entertainment options.
When booking flights with Etihad, passengers now have the opportunity to include a stopover and choose a complimentary hotel as part of the online booking process. Guests can enjoy a free stay for one or two nights at a selection of premier hotels throughout the city. These stopover packages are exclusively available when booking directly through etihad.com.

Neves expressed confidence that once these visitors experience the offerings of the capital, they will be enticed to return for more. He further mentioned the pleasure of collaborating closely with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to showcase the emirate’s attractions to a global audience.
