Manufacturing production in Egypt increased by 6.56 percent month on month in June, led by the beverage and electrical equipment industries, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
The report said that preliminary data for manufacturing and extractive industries production, which excludes crude oil and petroleum products, was 119.38 in June, compared to a final reading of 119.38 in May.
Among the economic activities that increased, beverage industry production rose by 15.54 percent month on month in June, supported by growth in production during the summer season. Meanwhile, electrical appliance production increased by 15.54 percent.
On the other hand, the manufacture of chemical products saw a decline of 4.83 percent month on month, while that of basic metals dropped by 5.45 percent.
