X has recently witnessed a “massive cyber attack,” as reported by Elon Musk. The CEO of the social media platform indicated that the assault was executed “with a lot of resources.”
Musk asserted that the involvement of either a significant organized group or a nation, or possibly both, was likely. He shared on the platform: “There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. On Monday, Musk disclosed on Fox News that the IP addresses linked to the cyber attack were traced back to areas “in the Ukraine area.” The U.S. government has recently revoked certain access to satellite imagery for Ukraine and halted intelligence sharing, increasing pressure on Kyiv as President Trump aims for a rapid resolution to the conflict with Russia.
In a now-deleted message on Telegram, a hacking group known as Dark Storm Team took responsibility for the attack. Approximately 40,000 users reported difficulties accessing the platform on Monday, based on data from tracking website Downdetector.com. Complaints regarding outages peaked around 10 a.m. in the U.K. and again at 2 p.m.
