Emirates and flydubai have reached a major milestone in their strategic partnership, with more than 5 million passengers*  traveling on their combined networks over the past year. This marks a 36 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) increase in joint passenger traffic, underscoring the growing strength of their collaboration and its role in enhancing Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.

Emirates, the world’s largest operator of Boeing 777 aircraft, and flydubai, one of the region’s fastest-growing low-cost carriers, have worked closely to deliver seamless travel experiences and greater connectivity through Dubai.

The partnership allows passengers to benefit from integrated scheduling, smoother transfers, and access to an expanded global route network.

Supporting the D33 agenda

The collaboration supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the size of the emirate’s economy and solidify its standing as one of the top economic cities globally.

By contributing to Dubai’s goal of adding 400 new destinations in foreign trade and tourism, the Emirates-flydubai alliance continues to play a pivotal role in driving growth across both aviation and commerce.

World-class leadership

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and CEO of Emirates Group and chairman of flydubai, said: “The Emirates and flydubai partnership has been a gamechanger for both carriers. It is a testament to collaborative excellence that has delivered more flight options and a better experience for travellers, underpinned by a vast network that connects every corner of the globe.”

“I’m immensely proud of what has been achieved so far, and look forward to the next phase of growth and impact that both Emirates and flydubai will have on enhancing Dubai’s connectivity and shaping the future of air travel across regions,” Sheikh Ahmed added.

Since launching their strategic partnership in 2017, Emirates and flydubai have transformed air travel through Dubai, delivering a seamless and integrated travel experience to over 22 million passengers across their combined networks. What began with just 29 destinations has now expanded to 240 cities in more than 100 countries, underscoring the success and global reach of this pioneering collaboration.

Successful collaboration

By pooling their strengths, the two Dubai-based carriers have created a unified travel ecosystem offering unmatched convenience, from streamlined check-ins and efficient baggage transfers to coordinated flight schedules and shared access to Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3. Today, passengers can choose from an average of 295 daily codeshare flights, providing increased flexibility and connection options.

Flydubai alone operates more than 330 weekly flights out of Terminal 3 to sought-after destinations such as Zanzibar, Kathmandu, Krabi, Riyadh, and Naples.

Emirates customers can now access over 132 flydubai destinations, while flydubai passengers benefit from connectivity to more than 142 Emirates destinations worldwide.

The partnership has also seen strong growth in demand for premium cabin experiences, with bookings for business and first-class travel rising by 31 percent over the past year — reflecting the appeal of the carriers’ high-quality onboard products and services.

Adding more destinations

In terms of network expansion, Emirates recently launched new routes to Bogota (Colombia) and Antananarivo (Madagascar), with plans to add Da Nang, Siem Reap, and Shenzhen this summer. Flydubai has also announced 10 new summer destinations, including Antalya, Basel, and Al Alamein, further extending their regional and international footprint.

Fueling the loyalty of millions of customers, the award-winning Emirates Skywards program continues to serve as a powerful unifying force between the two airlines. With more than 35 million members worldwide, Skywards allows travelers to earn and redeem Miles across all Emirates and flydubai flights using a single loyalty currency, offering generous rewards and tier benefits.

As Emirates and flydubai continue to innovate and grow, their partnership remains central to Dubai’s ambition of becoming one of the most connected cities in the world.
